2026 Edward R Murrow Winners Announced
The Radio Television Digital News Association has announced the regional winners of the 2026 Edward R. Murrow Awards, and Washington and Baltimore stations had a strong showing across both television and radio.
WRC picked up multiple honors, including awards for breaking news, continuing coverage, digital, innovation, and newscast. Baltimore stations also performed well, with WBFF, WBAL, and WMAR all taking home awards. WJLA earned recognition for Jay Korff’s writing and a feature report, while WUSA9 won for sports reporting.
On the radio side, WTOP continued its dominance with awards for breaking news, hard news, news series, newscast, and overall excellence. WBAL-AM and WAMU also earned several honors for reporting, documentaries, writing, and digital coverage. The Edward R. Murrow Awards are considered among the most prestigious honors in broadcast and digital journalism and recognize outstanding storytelling, technical excellence, and service to the community.
