96.9 The Rock Marks America’s 250th with 1,776 Song Marathon

96.9 The Rock (WWUZ) in Fredericksburg is celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary with a special programming event. From July 1 through July 5, the station is presenting “1776,” featuring 1,776 different classic rock songs played back to back without a repeat.

The marathon will include everything from iconic rock anthems to deep album cuts and fan favorites, highlighting the depth of the station’s music library. Vice President and Market Manager Debbie Patten said, “This is the kind of radio event that reminds listeners why local radio is so much fun,” while Operations Manager Jeff Cochran said, “Playing 1,776 songs without a repeat is a challenge, but it’s also a celebration of the incredible history of rock music.”

Listeners can hear the special on 96.9 The Rock93.3 WFLS HD2, or stream it online at 969TheRock.com.
