America In The Morning To End After 42 Years

Westwood One has confirmed to DCRTV that America in the Morning will end on September 18th after nearly 42 years in syndication. The hour long news program, currently hosted by John Trout, is heard locally from 5 to 6 AM on Federal News Network (1500 WFED).

The show debuted on the Mutual Broadcasting System on September 17, 1984, with legendary broadcaster Jim Bohannon as its host. Bohannon remained with the program until December 2015, when Trout took over.

America in the Morning will be replaced on Westwood One by Dan Bongino Report AM, bringing another Bongino-hosted program to the Westwood One lineup. No word on if WFED plans to air Bongino’s new program. Earlier this week, WMAL added Bongino Report PM to its evening lineup.
