Arch Campbell Talks About Glory Days of Local TV News
Former NBC4 WRC personality Arch Campbell sat down with former WRC anchor Doreen Gentzler over the weekend to discuss his career and his new memoir, The Accidental Critic.
Campbell talks about being brought to NBC in 1974 to do offbeat human interest stories and eventually became the station’s movie reviewer.
In the early 1980s, he joined Jim Vance, George Michael, and Bob Ryan‘s revamped news team.
As NBC underwent budget cuts in 2006, Cambell left the TV station after thirty-two years and joined WJLA, remaining until his retirement eight years later.
