Bob Delmont Exits WPOC As iHeart Layoffs Reach Baltimore

The latest round of iHEARTMEDIA layoffs has reached Baltimore. WPOC 93.1 midday host Bob Delmont has exited the company after 27 years, according to RadioInsight. Delmont had hosted weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on WPOC while also serving as the morning host on iHeart‘s nationally syndicated Classic Country format carried on stations across the country.

Delmont joined WPOC in 2000 after stops at Y108 WDSY in Pittsburgh and WMTZ in Johnstown. Over the years, he also voice tracked numerous iHeart country stations, filling dayparts in markets including Washington, Austin, Las Vegas, Frederick, Salisbury, Springfield, Greenville and Salinas. Outside of radio, he also hosted Comcast‘s Shopping Pittsburgh television program in the late 1990s.

Delmont’s departure comes as iHEARTMEDIA continues a companywide restructuring aimed at reducing costs while expanding its technology capabilities. According to RadioInsight, many smaller markets have lost all remaining local on air talent, while even larger markets such as Indianapolis and St. Louis have been reduced to just a handful of local personalities. The company previously said it plans an additional $50 million in cost savings during the second half of 2026, on top of $100 million in cuts already planned or implemented this year.
