Chris Michaels Exits WMAL

Chris Michaels announced on Facebook that his time at WMAL (105.9) has come to an end, emphasizing that the departure was his choice. Michaels said it was a pleasure working behind the scenes for Cumulus Media, praising the personalities he worked alongside. He says his goal is to get back on the air at another radio station soon while continuing to grow his mobile DJ company, Cruizin Entertainment.

Michaels joined WMAL last December after spending two and a half years with 930 WFMD in Frederick. At WFMD, Michaels co-hosted the Morning News Express and also served as the station’s Program Director.

Michaels made it clear that he isn’t walking away from the radio business. “Radio is my first love,” he wrote, adding that his “heart and soul say radio will NEVER die, especially local radio.” Michaels says he hopes his next move will put him back behind a microphone at another station.
