Coming Soon: Barry Lee On The DCRTV Podcast
For 37 years, Barry Lee was the friendly voice waking up the Shenandoah Valley on WINC-FM.
Barry looks back at how he started in radio, the story of crossing the street from 99.3 WFFV to 92.5 WINC, and what it was like as a new morning host replacing a morning show that had been on WINC for over 20 years.
Barry shares the challenges of working with multiple co-hosts over the years, and the secret to surviving two owners, and multiple GMs, and PDs.
Barry also reflects on the major changes WINC underwent, from the Lewis family selling to Centennial to surviving the 2008 financial crisis and the pandemic.
He also talks about the 92.5 frequency getting sold, WINC moving to 104.9 & 105.5, and ultimately being sold again to Metro Radio. Barry also talks about why he decided to step away and retire from radio.
The podcast will be available next week. If you want to listen now, consider signing up to be a DCRTV Supporter.
