Corey Calhoun Exits WMZQ

Corey Calhoun has exited WMZQ (98.7) after eight years as Music Director and evening host. Calhoun signed off following his show last night, marking the end of a run that began in June 2018.

Calhoun joined WMZQ from sister station WAMZ in Louisville, where he served as Assistant Program Director. Prior to Louisville, he programmed stations in Georgia and Kentucky and got his start in radio as an intern at WWWQ in Atlanta.

In a Facebook post announcing his departure, Calhoun reflected on his time in Washington. “8 years ago today I started at WMZQ, how time flies. Today is also my last day,” he wrote. Calhoun thanked Jeff Kapugi for giving him the opportunity and said he was “excited for my next chapter coming soon.” No word yet on where Calhoun is headed next, and iHeartMedia has not announced plans for a replacement.
