DC Vs. Baltimore: WMZQ And WPOC Battle For CMA Honors
It’s DC vs. Baltimore, with a corporate twist: they’re on the same team. Washington’s WMZQ (98.7) and Baltimore’s WPOC (93.1), both owned by iHeartMedia, are going head to head for Major Market Radio Station of the Year in the 2026 Country Music Association Broadcast Awards.
That means two sister stations just 40 miles apart are competing for the same national honor and bragging rights.
Baltimore has another shot at winning. WPOC morning hosts Michael J and Candace Dold are finalists for Major Market Broadcast Personality of the Year for Michael J & Candace in the Morning. The winners will be announced in October, ahead of the 60th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville.
