Delmarva News: FCC Approves Relocation
The FCC has approved the relocation of WNJD (102.3 FM) from Cape May, New Jersey to Hartly, Delaware. The station will remain a Class A facility and will operate with a signal aimed toward central Delaware, effectively becoming a rimshot signal into the Dover area.
According to a DCRTV reader, WNJD will operate with 1,400 watts ERP at 100 meters HAAT. While still classified as a Class A station, the facility runs well below the maximum Class A limits. The signal is also tightly constrained due to short-spacing with nearby stations, squeezing it between adjacent channel facilities serving the Philadelphia and Salisbury markets.
Engineering documents show the signal designed to cover much of Kent County while protecting surrounding stations.
