Diane Stupar Returns To Eliot In The Morning
After about a month away, Diane Stupar returned to Eliot in the Morning today opening up on-air about the past few weeks following the loss of her husband, Scott. As Eliot Segal welcomed her back, he summed up what many listeners were feeling: “It’s very, very nice to have you back.”
Diane didn’t shy away from how difficult the past month has been, saying plainly, “It’s been hard… really hard,” and adding, “I feel like it’s been a long month.” She also spoke about the overwhelming support she’s received, telling the show, “I am so, so, so appreciative… I was overwhelmed at the amount of support,” noting that messages from listeners and friends didn’t just come right away, but “people continuing to check in too,” which made a difference as time went on.
The conversation moved between emotional and candid moments, as Diane described what life has been like adjusting to such a sudden change. “We were married for 25 years and this suddenly he’s not here anymore… I have no idea what my life’s going to look like now,” she said, while also sharing the reality of handling everything from paperwork to daily life on her own. At the same time, she showed glimpses of the humor that listeners know her for, explaining, “You have to find humor… I can’t sit in that house and cry all day.” You can listen here.
