Easton’s WKHZ Requests More Time To Fix Daytime Signal Problems
Radio Broadcast Communications has filed a request with the FCC to continue operating under Special Temporary Authority while engineers work through a list of technical problems tied to the station’s daytime signal pattern.
According to the filing a non-isolated STL cable installation allegedly caused problems with the station’s daytime operation. RBC says it has spent years trying to return the facility to licensed parameters, including locating a hard-to-find isocoupler, repairing storm damage at the transmitter site, and conducting extensive monitor point measurements. Just as things appeared close to being resolved, additional storm damage and fluctuating readings at one of the monitor points reportedly forced engineers back to square one for more testing and verification.
