FCC Filing Raises Questions About Radio One Translator Paperwork

A DCRTV reader reviewing FCC records noticed what may be a paperwork discrepancy involving Radio One‘s FM translator W240DJ (95.9). According to the FCC database, the translator still lists WOL as its primary station, despite the facility being used to rebroadcast 92.7 WPRS following changes made roughly six months ago.

The filing has prompted questions about whether the translator’s paperwork was never updated, whether the FCC database was not properly revised, or if there is some administrative grace period that allows the operation to continue while paperwork is processed. The reader speculated that the filing could have been overlooked amid the federal government shutdown and resulting administrative backlog.

Whatever the explanation, the discrepancy has apparently remained in the FCC’s online records for months. Whether it’s simply a clerical oversight or something requiring a formal correction, it appears to have escaped notice until now. DCRTV will monitor the situation to see if any updated filings are submitted.
