Former DC Sportscaster Dan Miller Honored By Lions After Wife’s Death
Former Washington sportscaster Dan Miller, now the radio voice of the Detroit Lions, received an emotional tribute Sunday following the death of his wife, Cindy Miller, who died Saturday, after a battle with cancer. Following Detroit’s 45-21 victory over Arizona, Lions head coach Dan Campbell fought back tears as he dedicated the game ball to Miller and his family. “Dan is salt of the earth,” Campbell said. “We love you, Dan.”
Born in DC and raised in Northern Virginia, Miller graduated from George Mason University. He co-hosted shows with Andy Pollin and Doc Walker at WTEM. He later hosted a Washington Redskins pregame show on FOX 5 (WTTG) and also worked as a weekend sports anchor at WJLA from 1995 to 1997. He moved to Detroit in 1997 to become Sports Director at FOX 2 (WJBK) and has been the radio play-by-play voice of the Lions since 2005.
