Former WMAR Anchor Wayne Lynch Writes Vampire Novel

The Baltimore Banner reports that former WMAR-TV anchor and reporter Wayne Lynch has traded crime scenes for the supernatural with his new novel,Blood Stained Papers. The book follows a Baltimore reporter bitten by a vampire who fights to save himself and the woman he loves, a dark, clever nod to Lynch’s decades covering real-life bloodshed and the old “blood-sucking reporters” joke.

Lynch, who worked at WMAR in the ’70s and later helped launch NewsChannel 8 in D.C., says the story blends his two passions — journalism and classic vampire films.

Lynch joined the DCRTV Podcast earlier this year to talk about the inside story of Washington’s 24 hour news channel NewsChannel 8.
