Fran Little Passes Away

Fran Little, one of the region’s most respected and warmly regarded broadcast engineers, passed away on Monday October 13, in Hagerstown at age 88. Fran’s career spanned over six decades, attending to the technical needs of stations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, and earning him countless friendships along the way, thanks to his kind and generous demeanor.

The list of call-letters is long, but DCRTV will name just some associated with Fran’s engineering: WRNR (AM), WEPM, WKMZ, WAGE, WCST, WDHC, WMHI, WARK, WARX, WSKE, WSHP, WXLN, WFQX, and WHAG (AM & TV).

Fran also did on-air work for WJEJ, WMHI, WEPM, WESM, and WRNR, plus a brief stint with news at WHAG-TV in their early years. Services are planned for this Saturday, and more information may be found here.
