Frank Ski and John Monds Cut From WHUR

DCRTV has learned that WHUR has cut afternoon drive host Frank Ski, and “Original Quiet Storm” host John Monds.

Both personalities have been removed from WHUR’s website.

The cuts follow budget cuts the Howard University-owned station made last month, which led to the layoffs of weekend personalities Mr. C and Mansy Pullen.

Frank Ski has a long history in Washington/Baltimore radio, going back to 1985, with stops at V103 (WXYV) and 92Q (WERQ) in Baltimore.

Frank also did mornings at V103 (WVEE) in Atlanta from 1998 -2012 and 2017 – 2019.

In addition to his work at WHUR, Ski was also heard on Kiss 104.1 (WALR) in Atlanta until the station decided not to renew his contract this past January.

John Monds has hosted WHUR’s Original Quiet Storm since 2020.

Before coming to WHUR, Monds worked at radio stations in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia.
