Frederick Police Probe Death After Tipster Calls Elliott In The Morning
Frederick City Police are investigating a death after a caller to DC101’s Elliot in the Morning claimed he had discovered a body in the woods, but waited more than two weeks to tell anyone.
According to the Frederick Police Department, officers located a body on Friday in a wooded area off East Street near Carroll Creek Crossing. The discovery came after the show posted audio on Facebook of a caller, identifying himself only as “Joseph,” who said he’d found a body 18 days earlier near a campsite. In the clip, the caller chillingly remarked, “This may sound sick, but I’ve always wanted to come upon something like that, and luckily, it was months old. So that was nice.” The hosts repeatedly urged him to contact law enforcement, noting he had not yet reported it.
Police said the person’s identity and cause of death have not yet been determined, and the case remains under investigation. At this time, officers say there is no threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Nicole Smith at 301-600-2102. More from DC News Now.
