Hearst And Dish Reach Deal To Keep WBAL On Satellite
Hearst Television and Dish Network have reached a new multi-year carriage agreement, avoiding a potential blackout of Hearst-owned local television stations for Dish subscribers.
The agreement was reached Wednesday ahead of the expiration of the companies’ previous retransmission-consent deal.
WBAL had warned viewers earlier this week that its signal could be removed from Dish if the two sides failed to reach a new agreement. The new deal covers Hearst television stations nationwide. Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
