Is Michelle Basch Still Retiring?
WTOP announced back in September that longtime morning drive anchor Michelle Basch would retire at the end of December 2025. But as of today, listeners are still hearing Basch anchoring mornings, prompting some chatter about the status of her exit.
A WTOP insider tells DCRTV that the station needed additional time to line up a permanent replacement for the high-profile role. Rather than rushing the transition, Basch agreed to remain on the air a bit longer to help maintain continuity during morning drive, WTOP’s most critical daypart.
