Kars 4 Kids Ads Banned In California

Few radio and TV commercials are more recognizable, or more polarizing, than the 1-877-Kars-4-Kids jingle. You hear them all the time on local TV and radio. But after decades of nonstop airplay, the ad could be hitting the brakes in California.

A California court has reportedly ruled that Kars4Kids violated the state’s false advertising law, saying the nonprofit did not clearly disclose its religious affiliation or fully explain where donated money was going. According to reports, the commercials can no longer air in California unless they include an audible disclosure stating that Kars4Kids is a Jewish organization, where beneficiaries are located, and the age range of those being helped. The ruling stems from a class action lawsuit filed in late 2025. More from CBS News.
