After 15 years, United Media Communications has shut down its Regional Mexican outlet La Mera Mera. The company had leased Hubbard Radio’s 1050 WBQH/93.5 W228DI since 2010.
WBQH is now simulcasting Hubbard’s The Gamut on 1050 and 93.5.
The end comes even as the format was growing. In July 2025, La Mera Mera notched a 1.6 share in the Nielsen ratings.
In a farewell posted on social media, United Media thanked listeners, staff, and advertisers:
