Legendary WINC Morning Host Passes Away

Joe Pasquali who hosted mornings on WINC in Winchester from 1958 – 1984 has passed away.

Barry Lee, who replaced Pasquali on WINC, told DCRTV that Joe was “a heck of a nice guy who loved his community. His incredible voice woke up Winchester and announced high school sports on WINC for 26 years.”

After leaving WINC, Pasquali did mornings at WNTW in Winchester for four and a half years with co-host John Schreiner. John told DCRTV that Joe was “an incredible guy. We clicked like we knew each other for 20 years as soon as we met.”

Joe had a lifelong love of history and entertaining people. After Joe retired from radio, he teamed up with John Schreiner again, this time as tour guides at Crystal Caverns in Strasburg, Virginia.

They entertained crowds with their stories and the history of the caverns. John especially enjoyed Halloween when he got to tell his local ghost stories.

Joe always enjoyed it when radio listeners would recognize his voice from his days at WINC and WNTW.

Pasquali also appeared on Barry Lee’s 25th anniversary show on WINC in 2009 and was a guest on Lee’s cable talk show.

Joe Pasquali passed away on June 3, 2024, just three days shy of his 97th birthday.
