Leon Harris Speaks About Getting Pulled Off Air Mid Newscast

Former News4 anchor Leon Harris appeared on the Call Me Friend Podcast to talk about his struggles with alcohol and getting pulled off the air mid-broadcast during a newscast last November.

Harris said he’s been battling with alcoholism and thought he had it under control, but he slipped.

He had a four-hour break between newscasts and had dinner and a few drinks. He was more affected by the alcohol than he thought he was.

He thought he was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, he wasn’t, and the calls started coming into the newsroom. The station had no choice but to pull him off the air.

He talks about his treatment, getting fired from the TV station, and how he is working on turning his life around.
