Longtime WTOP Voice Michelle Basch Retiring
WTOP morning drive anchor Michelle Basch will step down at the end of the year after nearly two decades with the radio station. She’ll continue reporting into the spring before relocating full-time to Pennsylvania with her husband, Mike.
Basch joined WTOP in 2006 after working at WMAL, KABC Los Angeles, and WTAM Cleveland. She anchored evenings with the late Dimitri Sotis before moving to mornings in 2023, becoming a trusted voice for Washington commuters.
WTOP’s Julia Ziegler praised Basch’s “passion for news” and commitment to accuracy, noting she will be “greatly missed.”
