Maryland Public Television Names New VP of Technology

Maryland Public Television has appointed Ling Ling Sun as its new Vice President of Technology, bringing over 20 years of experience in public media to the role. She will lead MPT’s Production & Maintenance, Transmission & Distribution, and IT operations.

Previously CTO at Nebraska Public Media, Sun oversaw major infrastructure improvements and implemented a statewide converged media network system, innovations that have become benchmarks in the field.

Her career includes engineering leadership at WOSU Public Media, where she helped manage the digital transition and launch of WOSU@COSI, a high-tech public production facility.

Sun has held national leadership roles with PBS, NAB, and ATSC, and has received multiple honors, including Broadcasting & Cable’s National Technology Leadership Award.
