Melanie Hastings Celebrates 35 Years At WJLA
Melanie Hastings is celebrating 35 years with WJLA and 7News DC24/7, which started out as NewsChannel 8 back in 1991.
Hastings was there from day one, joining NewsChannel 8 as one of its original anchors when the 24 hour local cable news channel launched. At the time, NewsChannel 8 and WJLA were both owned by Allbritton Communications.
These days, Hastings anchors Good Morning Washington at 4:24 am on ABC7, Good Morning Washington Express at 6 on 7News DC24/7, and co anchors the Midday Report on 7News DC24/7. WJLA marked her 35 year anniversary with an on air tribute, which you can watch it here.
