Why 820 In Frederick Has New Call Letters

Back in June, Hubbard changed the format and call letters for a station they own in Chicago, WSHE.

Those call letters are now being used by The Gamut, 820 AM in Frederick.

The station’s Vice President and General Manager, Joel Oxley, tells DCRTV that Hubbard is parking the call letters on 820 in Frederick for now.

“They are cool call letters, and the company didn’t want to lose them. Hubbard doesn’t plan to use the call letters anywhere else right now, but they may in the future.”

“It’s really a case of this Is some pretty cool intellectual property. So, let’s keep it,” said Oxley

820 AM Is called The Gamut on-air, and it doesn’t matter what the call letters are.
