New Afternoon Show On WDCN

WDCN (Que Onnda 87.7 FM) is rolling out El Cotorreo with DJ Chicano & DJ Scorpion in afternoon drive (weekdays 4–8), a show that’s already the #1 Spanish-language afternoon program in the market.

The move brings a mix of fast-talking wit, music, sports, traffic to listeners heading home. Costa Media’s Gerardo Lopez calls the pair “authentic, funny, and impossible not to connect with,” and says the addition cements Que Onnda as a serious player for Latino audiences across the DMV.

DJ Chicano is a Takoma Park native with Mexican and Peruvian roots who worked his way up from intern to one of the area’s top-rated afternoon jocks. DJ Scorpion, originally from Veracruz, has been spinning since ’01 and on-air since 2013, winning over listeners with his streetwise humor, family-man vibe, and die-hard Chivas fandom.
