New Radio Station Coming To Northern Virginia
The Federal Communications Commission has approved a new Low Power FM station at 97.7.
The assigned call letters are WSAY-LP. It Is owned by the non-profit organization Sankofa African Local Network based in Woodbridge.
The Executive Director, Emmanuel Osei Darko tells DCRTV that they are working on launching a format targeting the African community with a mix of African music and locally produced talk shows.
The FCC recently approved them to move the location of their transmitter site in Stafford. They hope to be on the air sometime in February.
