Spencer Christian Recovers From Heart Surgery

Veteran meteorologist Spencer Christian, whose career has spanned from Baltimore to New York to San Francisco, is recovering after undergoing major heart surgery. Christian worked at WBAL-TV in the mid-1970s before rising to national prominence as the longtime weather anchor on Good Morning America from 1986 to 1998.

Christian shared on Facebook that on February 9, he underwent open-heart surgery to repair his mitral and tricuspid valves, correct an arrhythmia, and have a pacemaker installed. After spending six days in the hospital, he was discharged and is now recovering at home, with plans to return to work in early April if all goes well.
