Steve Kingston Retires From Radio

From RAMP: For those of us who came of age during the legendary Steve Kingston/Scott Shannon radio era, here’s a cold dose of reality — Kingston has officially exited the radio business.

Kingston tells RAMP: “I sold my equity in WRNR-FM to my business partner Kirk Litton, and am officially out of the radio broadcast business!” Litton’s new partner in the station is veteran programmer and consultant Jay Stevens.

RAMP reported back in July 2024, Kingston and Patty are starting a new venture — a family-run cannabis dispensary in downtown Montclair, NJ, cleverly named The Kush Connection, a nod to the family’s given name, Kushner. Kingston says, “We plan to open in January and be the Hard Rock Cafe of dispensaries. With WRNR-FM in good hands, I can now focus on this new adventure and business opportunity, bringing with me my friends and relationships I’ve built over the years to build this new exciting business concept.”
