Tony B Named B101.5 Afternoon DJ

Centennial Broadcasting has named Fredericksburg radio veteran Tony Bennett, better known as Tony B, as the new afternoon drive host on B101.5 (WBQB). He will take over the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. shift beginning Monday replacing Trapper Young, who moved to mornings on sister station 95.9 The Goat (WGRX).

Tony B is no stranger to the Fredericksburg airwaves. He began his local radio career as a part timer at B101.5 in 2005 before going on to host mornings at the former 99.3 The Vibe (WVBX). In addition to his radio work, he is also well known locally as a DJ, music producer, creator, and publisher. “I’m hyped to get back on the airwaves in Fredericksburg on the legendary B101.5,” Tony B said. “I’m up for the challenge to entertain our massive audience for The Drive Home.”

Operations Manager Chuck “Archer” Miller said Tony B’s deep roots in the market made him the right choice for the role. “Tony is a familiar voice in the Fredericksburg market and we are excited to have him come back to B101.5,” Miller said. “He knows our audience, the area, and the gravity of taking over a shift that’s been held by only one other person for 29 years.”
