VerStandig Files FCC Paperwork For Call Letter Moves
A major shuffle is coming to the Hagerstown/Waynesboro radio market as part of the pending sale of WAYZ. VerStandig Media has agreed to sell WAYZ-FM Hagerstown (104.7) to Brighter Media. The FCC approved the transaction on September 5, and closing is set for October 1. Brighter Media already requested that the 104.7 call letters be changed to WRYS-FM once the sale is complete.
Earlier today, VerStandig Media filed the paperwork with the FCC to shuffle the call letters as part of their planned format moves. VerStandig Media will move the WAYZ format and call letters to 101.5 WBHB-FM.
The rock format currently on 101.5 WBHB will shift to 92.1 WIKG-FM Mercersburg, which will become WBHB-FM.
Meanwhile, the sports format now heard on 92.1 WIKG will land on 1380 AM WLIN-AM Waynesboro, which will switch to WIKG-AM.
