Verstandig Shuffles Hagerstown Signals in Advance of WAYZ Sale

As first reported by RadioInsight, big moves are coming to the Hagerstown-Chambersburg market as Verstandig Broadcasting preps for the sale of Country 104.7 WAYZ to Brighter Media Group, owners of Baltimore’s Bright-FM.

To make room, Verstandig is consolidating and repositioning its lineup:

  • 92.1 WIKG and 100.9 WLIN/W265DU will merge as 100.9 The Goat, combining their sports formats starting September 1.
  • The rock format of 101.5 Bob Rocks (WBHB-FM) will temporarily simulcast on 92.1 until September 15, at which point 92.1 becomes Bob Rocks‘ new full-time home.
  • Meanwhile, WAYZ’s country format will move to 101.5, simulcasting from September 15 to October 1, returning the country brand to its original frequency from 1959–2000.
  • On October 1, 104.7 will officially flip to a Bright-FM simulcast, airing Christian AC content from WRBS-FM Baltimore and WRHS Grasonville.
