WBAL Launches 7 PM Newscast, Ava Marie Moves to Evenings, Alena Lee Joins Mornings

WBAL-TV 11 is expanding its local news lineup with a new 7 PM newscast starting Monday, September 15th. The half-hour show will be anchored by Jason Newton and Ashley Hinson, with longtime morning meteorologist Ava Marie handling the weather.

With the change, Ava shifts to evenings and will now appear on the 4, 5, 7, and 10 PM newscasts. Inside Edition will move to 7:30 PM to make room for the newscast.

WBAL is also adding meteorologist Alena Lee to its morning team, joining Lacee Griffith, Megan Rivers, and Sean Streicher on WBAL-TV 11 News Today, which airs weekdays from 4:30 to 7 AM.

The station now produces 42 hours of local news each week, continuing its push to dominate the Baltimore market.
