WETA-FM Seeks Move For Frederick Translator

WETA has filed with the FCC to move its Frederick translator W205BL to a new tower site. The translator airs WETA programming on 88.9 FM in Frederick.

The filing says W205BL has been operating at reduced facilities under special temporary authority after the tower that previously supported its antenna was dismantled. The new proposal would relocate the translator about 1.9 kilometers from its licensed site, using an existing tower in Frederick. The application calls for 250 watts with a non-directional antenna.

The application was filed July 7 and is pending FCC approval.
