WFLS Named National Finalist for Community Service Effort
Fredericksburg’s WFLS (93.3) has been named a finalist for the Service to Community Award (Radio – Medium Market) from the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation, part of the group’s annual Celebration of Service to America Awards.
The nod comes thanks to Wet Nose Wednesday, the station’s weekly push to help area shelters find homes for adoptable pets. The feature runs during the WFLS Morning Show with Jeff & Grayson, bringing in local rescue groups and spotlighting animals that need homes. WFLS has leaned into video as well, producing in-house clips that get shared across social and the station’s website, giving the segment reach well beyond the airwaves.
Wet Nose Wednesday has turned into a consistent community touchpoint, and more importantly, it’s helped move animals out of shelters and into homes.
