WFMD Kicked Off Christmas Cash For Kids Today
WFMD, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, kicked off its annual Christmas Cash For Kids fundraiser today.
The radio station is seeking donations from listeners to buy Christmas gifts for families who otherwise would have to go without them.
None of the money goes to overhead or credit card fees; 100% goes to helping local families.
WFMD has also worked out discounts on gifts, clothing, and supplies with local merchants so that the money goes even further.
This Is the 49th year of Christmas Cash For Kids. The holiday tradition started in 1975 at the former Z104 (WZYQ) and moved to WFMD many years ago.
Morning Mayor Bob Miller is soliciting donations on his Morning News Express morning show all week.
They are also accepting donations online.
