WHUR Collects Nearly 600 New Coats for Children In Need

HOWARD UNIVERSITY’s WHUR (96.3FM) kicked off its Season of Giving on Saturday with its 23rd Annual Children’s Coat Drive at The Shops at Iverson, hosted by Coka-Lani. Listeners and partners donated over 590 new coats, hats, and gloves to help keep local children warm this winter.

The items will be distributed to area nonprofits, including Sasha Bruce Youthwork, which supports homeless and at-risk youth. “Our listeners always step up to help those in need,” said WHUR GM Sean Plater.

WHUR’s Season of Giving continues with Food2Feed on November 18 and the Children’s Toy Drive on December 13.
