WKCW Continues Tower Rebuild

Nearly a year after one of its two towers collapsed, WKCW (1420 AM) in Warrenton continues making progress toward restoring its facilities. A DCRTV reader drove by the station’s studio and transmitter site and reports significant improvements, including fresh paving and a new security fence, evidence that work on the property is continuing.

The station was forced off the air in July 2025 when one of its towers collapsed. They resumed broadcasting in May, and they are currently operating daytime only at 5.5 kW, (about 25 percent of its licensed daytime power).

A representative for WKCW tells DCRTV there is still no estimate for when the tower project will be completed and the station can return to full licensed power.
