WTOP To End 103.9 FM Simulcast In Frederick County As K-LOVE Takes Over Another Frequency
Starting August 1, WTOP will no longer be heard on 103.9 in Frederick County. The station announced it has leased the frequency to K-LOVE, which will begin broadcasting its adult contemporary Christian music format on the signal at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.
WTOP says listeners in Frederick County will continue to receive its news coverage on 103.5 FM, 107.7 FM, and 103.5 HD1, along with its website, mobile apps, YouTube, Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Joel Oxley, President and General Manager of Hubbard DC, said the decision reflects the strong coverage provided by WTOP’s primary 103.5 FM signal across most of Frederick County, along with the growing use of streaming platforms.
