WTOP’s Joel Oxley To Receive NAB National Radio Award

WTOP ‘s (103.5) President and General Manager Joel Oxley will receive the National Association of Broadcasters’ 2026 National Radio Award, one of the radio industry’s top honors. Oxley, who also oversees WTOP and Federal News Network (1500), will be honored October 20 during the NAB Marconi Radio Awards dinner in New York.

Oxley joined WTOP in 1992 as an account executive and became General Manager in 1998. During his nearly 35 years with the station, WTOP grew into one of the country’s most successful local news operations and has consistently ranked among the nation’s highest billing radio stations. The station has also collected numerous Edward R. Murrow, NAB Marconi and NAB Crystal Radio Awards while expanding its news operation across radio, digital, video and social media.

The honor comes as Oxley prepares to wrap up his long run at WTOP. He announced in May that he plans to retire at the beginning of 2027.
