WTRI-AM Cancels Their License

Brunswick’s WTRI Is being added to the list of AM stations that have recently canceled their license.

The radio station had been struggling for years. Over the last several decades, multiple owners have tried various formats on the frequency, but nothing has gained traction.

The station broadcast for the last time in 2023 before its land was sold to the City of Brunswick to expand a park. At the time, the owner, Hasmukh Shah, hoped to find a buyer and a new transmitter site. He was not successful with either.

Shah, formally filed with the FCC yesterday to cancel the license.
