Updated: WWEG HD-2 Flips To A Yacht Rock Format As FRED FM
WWEG HD-2 has dropped its Christian Contemporary LIFE FM format in favor of a soft rock Yacht Rock format, rebranding as FRED FM.
Station owner Fred Manning tells DCRTV that FRED FM isn’t named after him.
Manning said “The goal of the station is to bring a smooth, easygoing vibe to Frederick and Hagerstown. Perfect for the office, a little weekend unwinding, or those moments when you just need to escape the noise.”
FRED FM is broadcasting on WWEG’s HD-2 and is available via FM translators W232DG (94.3 FM in Frederick) and W271BV (102.1 FM in Hagerstown).
They are working on a website and an app for the new station. You can still listen on the old LIFE FM app.
