After 35 Years, Brad Bell Retiring From WJLA
A familiar face on DC television is calling it a career. Brad Bell, Maryland Bureau Chief for ABC7 (WJLA), has announced his retirement after 35 years with the station. Bell joined WJLA in 1991 and has spent decades covering Maryland for Channel 7.
Before joining WJLA, Bell spent five years at WMAR, where he worked as a general assignment and State House reporter. Earlier stops included Maryland Public Television and Independent Network News in Washington. Bell is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
Friends and colleagues will celebrate Bell with a retirement party Thursday, September 24 at 6 PM at The Continental Lounge in Arlington. An invitation for the event sums up the longtime reporter’s next chapter: “Same great guy… just a new adventure!”
