Kathy Park Announces Departure From NBC News

Former Washington, DC Reporter and Anchor Kathy Park has announced that she left NBC News this summer after nearly eight years with the network. In a social media post, Park reflected on her career, which took her from local television news to a national correspondent position at NBC. She described working for the network as a dream job and thanked her colleagues and viewers for their support.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Park began her career in Northeast Tennessee before returning to the DC area in 2008 to work at ABC7 (WJLA) as a Reporter and Weekend Anchor. In 2014, she joined NBC Bay Area (KNTV) before leaving for NBC News.

Park called her career a privilege and said she was grateful to have lived the American dream as the daughter of Korean immigrants. She did not reveal her next career move.
