Trump Signs Executive Order Gutting Voice of America

President Trump signed an executive order gutting the parent of Voice of America and six other federal agencies last night.

The order instructs the agencies to reduce their operations to the minimum mandated by the law.

Reuters reports multiple workers at VOA have already been placed on administrative leave with full pay and benefits “until otherwise notified.”

Voice Of America Is an international media broadcaster that operates in more than 40 languages online and on radio and television. It’s overseen by the U.S. Agency for Global Media. The agency also funds Radio Free Europe and Asia and Radio Marti, which transmits Spanish-language news into Cuba.
