WQCM Sold, Classic Rock On The Way Out
Connoisseur Media is selling classic rock 94.3 WQCM in Greencastle, PA to Family Life Ministries, a nonprofit Christian broadcaster. The station serves the Hagerstown, Chambersburg and surrounding Four State region. The sale still needs FCC approval and is expected to close during the fourth quarter. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal means the end of WQCM’s classic rock format once Family Life takes control. The broadcaster operates a network of Christian stations featuring Contemporary Christian music along with Bible teaching, family programming and news. Family Life says the acquisition will expand its reach into South Central Pennsylvania and the Hagerstown and Chambersburg area.
WQCM only recently came under Connoisseur Media ownership as part of its acquisition of Alpha Media. Connoisseur will continue operating its other stations in the market, including Mix 95.1, Live 96.7 and Oldies 96.3. For now, WQCM continues with classic rock while the sale awaits regulatory approval.
