The Greaseman Posts Video
The Greaseman has largely faded from public view. These days, he rarely surfaces, but every so often he reappears with a video posted to social media. That happened again a few days ago, when Greaseman posted an eight-minute video.
Greaseman’s local legacy is firmly tied to DC 101, where he ruled mornings from 1982 through 1992. At his peak, he was one of the most talked-about personalities in the market, delivering a brand of shock-driven humor that was very much of its era and helped define DC 101 ’s image during the 80s and early 90s. After leaving DC 101, Greaseman moved into syndication, with his show airing locally on WJFK from 1993 to 1998, extending his reach beyond Washington while still maintaining a strong presence in the market. His final stop in Washington came with a brief return to mornings at WARW, where he spent about a year on the air.
While the latest clip does not signal any sort of comeback, it serves as a reminder of a time when Greaseman was one of the most influential and controversial voices on DC radio, and a name that still sparks recognition decades after his last regular shift on the dial.
